The borehole can be enlarged in the range of 108 – 460 mm. It is possible to enlarge an existing borehole. There are two types of reamers: fixed-diameter reamers (for enlargement beginning from surface) and hydraulically expandable reamers. Unlimited number of activations is possible regardless of the well-inclination angle, including ERD wells and wells with inclination over 65 degrees.
Application:
Wells with multiple alternate intervals that require and do not require enlargement
Highly abrasive formations
Can be used in ERD wells and wells with inclination over 65 degrees where the conventional activation system has certain engineering constraints
Unlimited number of activations regardless of the well-inclination angle
Borehole enlargement range – 108–460 mm
Placed below BHA components with limited ID, for example, below LWD systems
A near-bit reamer is placed in the rotary BHA
Features:
Unlimited number of activations regardless of the well-inclination angle
Full flow in modes with/without borehole enlargement
Quick extension and retraction of PDC cutters
Integrated jetting nozzle and flow paths for effective wellbore cleaning
Benefits:
Enlargement of borehole as required
Higher drilling performance
Concentric gauge holes
